Friday: arrive and experience Old Town
After arrival, a first tour of the city center is offered. Marktplatz, Linggplatz, Kirchplatz and the alleys quickly convey a feeling for the city. In the festival season, the evening can be combined with a performance.
Saturday: History, Family or Nature
Start in the abbey district. You can visit the abbey ruins during opening hours; the town museum provides further insight into the history of the abbey, town and theatre festival.
In the afternoon, take a guided tour or explore the old town at your own pace. The wortreich discovery centre is an indoor option for families; Jahnpark is ideal in good weather. Cyclists can plan a ride along part of the Fulda cycle route.
Sunday: Spa park or an excursion
Kurhaus, Source Pavilion and gardens form a relaxed conclusion. If you stay a third day, you can instead plan Rotenburg on the Fulda, the Rhön, Fulda or Kassel. Please check openings, events and connections before travel.
